The ground floor of a mid-fifties building, in the heart of Athens City Centre was designed to accommodate a 65 sq meters nutrition center. The space houses the office of a young nutritionist, which includes a waiting area, main office space, a small kitchen and restroom. The decision of keeping the original terrazzo and timber floors led the design of a modern- vintage approach.
The plan layout followed the footprint of previously existing walls that apparently were taken down in the past. Different terrazzo coatings were preserved and re-used. The selection of furniture, the color pallet in pastel and earthly tones, the use of natural materials and textures followed the vision of the Client to a “humane” and relaxing space, that would resemble a home rather than a professional space. The basic idea of the space is to be people-centered: to be able to welcome the visitor, making them feel safe, in order to truly love their body. This can lead to a total nutrition change and a better quality of life.
